If You See Something, Would You Say Something???

Writer: Cortney LacyCortney Lacy

Reading the news these days can be such a scary yet eye opening thing!

The title of this blog poses a question that I would love for you to answer. Would you say something if you saw something out of line and just wasn’t lining up? Many times we see different videos on social media of staged scenarios but what if this really happened in front of you? Would you help rescue that child? Would you confront that racist waiter or waitress? Would you stop that person from stealing that purse or that phone you know isn’t theirs? WHAT WOULD YOU DO?????

There use to be a time where people could correct your children and it not be a fight! If someone did, how would you respond? Would you be upset with the adult or do you KNOW your child good enough to say if they did or did not do what they are being accused of? Would you do the same for someone else’s child? If you saw someone stealing would you buy them food or let them go to jail??? We have this “I’m minding my business” mentality but whatever happened to being our brother/sister keeper? Have we gone that far in society that we can’t even help the next person?

These are just my thoughts and I thank you for reading along with me. So now I pose the question again…..WHAT WOULD YOU DO???

I agree with you because these days people would rather pull their phone out to record a situation rather than help in the situation. I have always been the type that if I see something happening I do something to help or either prevent whatever is happening. When it comes to the statement concerning children, if I don't know the parents of the child(ren) I wouldn't correct them. I say that because these days people look for reasons to go off and children is a iffy avenue to go down when talking about correcting.

Times have most certain changed from the days in which I grew up, it's better and worse at the same time. I think in all things…

Yes children are a touchy subject for most people. I just remember growing up that I would get in trouble with adults that saw me acting up then again at home because I was acting up and somebody else had to correct me. Times are definitely not the same!!! Thank you for your feedback.
